If you\u2019re looking to move to Belgium, or if you are visiting for a long period of time and want to take your vehicle with you, it is likely that you will need a Certificate of Conformity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In EU Law, a COC (Certificate of Conformity) is required as a declaration of conformity with the type approval of the European Commission. In short, the Certificate of Conformity guarantees the homogeneity of goods in the EU that are subject to registration, including passenger vehicles (M1), light goods vehicles (N1), and motorcycles (L). <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurococ.eu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EUROCOC <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can help you to get a COC for all of these vehicle types to assist you in your move to Belgium.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Belgium, a COC may have three different names, depending on the language of the area you are in. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In French, a COC is known as a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">certificat de conformit\u00e9<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in German a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COC Papiere<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and in Dutch, a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">certificaat van overeenstemming<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When do I need a Certificate of Conformity (COC) for Belgium?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you travel to Belgium and want to bring your car for a long period of time, you may need to get a Certificate of Conformity (COC.) If you are intending to relocate permanently to Belgium, or will be travelling to Belgium for an extended period of time, you will likely need to obtain a COC and register your vehicle with Belgian authorities. This means that you can transfer this plate to other vehicles if you were to purchase a new vehicle while you were in Belgium.
