What is a COC for Portugal?<\/span><\/h2>\n

A Certificate of Conformity, also called a <\/span>Certificado de Conformidade<\/span><\/i> (CEE) in Portugal,  is a document required to register a car in Portugal that was manufactured in another country. If you\u2019re looking to move to Portugal, or if you are visiting for a long period of time and want to take your vehicle with you, it is likely that you will need a Certificate of Conformity.<\/span><\/p>\n

In EU Law, a COC (Certificate of Conformity) is required as a declaration of conformity with the type approval of the European Commission. In short, the Certificate of Conformity guarantees the homogeneity of goods in the EU that are subject to registration, including passenger vehicles (M1), light goods vehicles (N1), and motorcycles (L). <\/span>EUROCOC <\/span><\/a>can help you to get a COC for all of these vehicle types to assist you in your move to Portugal.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you travel to Portugal and want to bring your car for a long period of time, you may need to get a Certificate of Conformity (COC.) If you are intending to relocate permanently to Portugal, or will be travelling to Portugal for an extended period of time, you will likely need to obtain a COC and register your vehicle with the authorities there. <\/span><\/p>\n

How to get a Certificate of Conformity in Portugal<\/span><\/h2>\n

When importing your vehicle into Portugal you should begin the process of registering your vehicle with the Portuguese Customs before your arrival in the country. Registration for vehicles is recorded at both the local customs office and the <\/span>Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes<\/span><\/i>, IP <\/span>(IMT.)<\/span><\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n
